We hope you consider us for your insurance needs. We offer:

Any broker can tell you what an insurance quote says; we will tell you what it means.

Benefit$mart is a family owned and operated full service insurance brokerage company, with access to all company carriers and a long history of stability and consistency in the market. The edge we bring to the business is in the value added services we provide to our clients, services such as COBRA notifications, handling of company bills, direct claims assistance, and others. Service is our business. This accounts for our retention figures. Over 22 years we have renewed 95% of our accounts, and several accounts go back 22 years.

We are up to date on the legislation, state regulations, and insurance companies' implementation of both. Again, we won't just tell you what a regulation says, we will tell you what it means. Contact us anytime!

Meet the principal players:

Mike Heffernan started Benefit$mart in 1986 after working on the company side of the business for 12 years. Since 1986 he has concentrated on building and maintaining the relationships with carrier representatives that are critical to problem solving when the inevitable problems arise. His basic idea was that he could operate a business that would last by treating both the carriers and the clients fairly, and by concentrating on service and retention rather than new business sales. Slow but steady growth has resulted.

Tim Heffernan joined Mike in 2001 after working in the medical equipment sales field on the east coast. He shares his dad's outlook on fairness and service. He is primarily responsible for the day to day business operations, and spends a good deal of time working on various strategies to help agency clients.

Lynn Vair joined her dad and brother in the business part time in 2007 and full time in 2013. She shares their outlooks and is primarily responsible for the administration of our accounts.
